Right in the Feels

Boo do you think you areAfter nourishment, shelter and companionship, stories are the thing we need most in the world.

There once was a girl named Penny, who ran the corner store.
Penny worked the day shift, never needing much more.
She hobbled ’round the counter tops when customers stopped on by.
Penny smiled her pretty smile and served the customers and passerbys’
At dusk she hung the store sign which read that “We are closed”
She sighed a happy sigh despite her achy woes.
See Penny lived alone and live alone she chose to do,
Her hobble made all the people fuss and muss and fret and stew.
And so Ms. Penny crossed the street, on to home, the day complete.

Near the corner, quite near her comfy, cozey place,
Penny heard a whimper, and crinkled that pretty  little face.
A rustle, a shifting, and Penny heard a sniffing.
“Why I’ve found a friend, the poor tiny tyke!
You cannot stay out here on this cold cold night!”
Penny had an inkling, a vision, a perfect plan.
“You can stay with me dear one, I could use a helping hand!”

Well, paw…

Penny hobbled back towards home, and found that she was very lucky.
It’s not everyday you meet a friend, let alone three legged puppy.

  1. awwww I love this story! Love the pose in your pic too, the way she is leaning most of her weight on her left foot really goes with the story. And since both my darling doggies were acquired in similar manner (found, astray, as little puppies) well this did tug at the ol’ heartstrings. Nice post! 🙂
