Stop and stare

Untie the weight bags, I never thought I could…
Steady feet, don’t fail me now
Gonna run till you can’t walk

There’s a whole new dimension to the whole ‘photo editing-manipulating-modifying’ aspect of SL photography that I’m still trying to reach. This dimension I feel like is somewhere between hitting my forehead on the desk to throwing my pen out of the window.

Okay so maybe I’m overreacting.

Sometimes I feel like I’m right there, at the cusp of learning how the SL ‘greats’ do it. These secret techniques, filters, brushes, etc..etc.. Where do I get them, how do I use them? How much does it cost?

Am I willing to invest in the time and hard ‘mental’ work that is necessary to break through that ‘sameness’ wall? Am I willing to take the criticism, the accolades, and heck, even the fake praises?

The bottom line, is that this learning curve is a steep and unforgiving one, but at the end of the day, if the artist, digital or non, can step back from his/her work, is pleased with the message it conveys, then it is time well invested.

Learning curve be danged.

  1. Totally agree. Every time I tell myself I am going to step up my game my eyes wander outdoors and my heart and feet soon follow. This picture though, is stunning! You ARE one of my fave photographers just how you do it now. And I sincerely mean that. ♡
